I'm a writer?

I never considered myself a writer, let alone an author. I disliked English, and my left-brain dominance struggled with Shakespeare—not to mention my challenges with spelling. If 1+1 is always 2, why is it "i before e except after c," or when it sounds like "a" in "neighbor" and "weigh"?

I have always been into scrapbooking and loved it. I wanted to preserve a memory with my grand nephew Harrison. We were fishing, and he was thrilled with every fish he caught. As six-year-olds do, he claimed to be the best fisherman ever, and in my heart, he was.

I wrote a poem to capture the day and wanted to give it to him as a gift. I challenged myself to figure out how to get it published, and this fall, I started watching YouTube videos. Out of this, "My Whale of a Tale" was born.
